Babies

Safe, evidenced based and genuine care for your baby. From the earliest days, paediatric physiotherapy can support your baby’s muscles, joints and motor development.

Childhood torticollis, talipes and gross motor delay

Common reasons we see babies include:

  • Difficulty with reaching milestones or delayed gross motor skills - difficulty with tummy time, head control in sitting, delayed rolling, crawling or walking

  • Babies with a flat spot on their head or neck tightness (Plagiocephaly, Brachycephaly & Torticollis)

  • Hip dysplasia, requiring a pavlik harness or rhino brace

  • Premature babies or babies with a low birth weight or complex birth requiring developmental input

  • Positional or structural talipes (foot turned inwards/outwards from birth)

  • Clavicle fracture or Erb’s palsy/ Brachial Plexus Injury

  • Babies with hypotonia or low muscle tone

  • Children with motor delays relating to genetic diagnosis or disability including Trisomy 21, gene duplications/ deletions, Prada Willi Syndrome, Turner’s Syndrome

  • Babies & children at risk of Cerebral Palsy or who have hypertonia (Hannah is actually a Research Therapist with the Cerebral Palsy Alliance as well!)
